Constitution of GSHSEB

Gujarat Secondary Education Board came into being in the year 1972 following the enactment of the Gujarat Secondary Education Act-1972.

(1) Constitution of the Board Article 3(2) of the Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972 provides for the constitution of the Secondary Education Board. The members of the Board are from the following categories
(1) Chairman and Deputy Chairman appointed by State Government.
(2) Ex-Officio members. (10)
(3) Elected members from the following constituencies

(a) Academic Council of each University in the State. (10)
(b) Headmaster of registered schools. (5)
(c) Headmaster of registered schools (Post Basic schools). (1)
(d) Teachers of registered schools (Post Basic Schools). (1)
(e) Teachers of registered schools. (5)
(f) Principal of S.T.T. College and GBTC. (1)
(g) Non-teaching staff. (1)
(h) Management of secondary schools registered under Societies Regulation Act 1960. (2)
(i) Management of secondary schools registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1 950. (2)
(j) Presidents of Parents' Associations of Registered Secondary Schools. (3)
