The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has embarked on a program of inservice training for its teachers in collaboration with the University of Cambridge. At the end of the program each of the participants will receive the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT). The CIDTT is a professional development tool for inservice teachers and trainers who want to improve on their competencies in carrying out learning and development activities professionaly and productively. The Diploma enables teachers to work in contexts which are most relevent to them, while addressing generic performance standards. It also recognizes the range of effective teaching and learning methods, technologies and styles now available, and encourages candidates to be thoughtful and resourceful in their approach to particular learning needs.
